I am a certified Physician Assistant and co-founder of Restorative Health & Wellness in Washington, DC. I received my degree of Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.

Throughout my graduate school education, I completed clinical clerkships in a variety of settings and specialties including inpatient and outpatient internal medicine, surgery, women’s health, emergency medicine, and elective rotations in neurology and oncology. Prior to completing my master’s program, I received a Bachelor’s of Health Science with a Minor in Psychology at Thomas Jefferson University.

Most recently, I worked at Jemsek Specialty Clinic and provided quality care to patients suffering from Lyme disease. Prior to this I spent time practicing in a primary care office. I am driven most by my love of caring for my patients and empowering them to work with me to achieve their health goals. I am passionate about patient education, preventative medicine, and patient-centered care. I have loved treating Lyme patients and I am excited to serve them throughout the duration of my career at Restorative Health & Wellness

When I am not at work, I enjoy reading, doing crosswords with my partner Eva, going to concerts, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. B.webp

Dr. Tito Balbino is a physician who was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he lived until coming to the US at the age of 12. Dr. Balbino initially became interested in the medical field following a Human Anatomy & Physiology course taken at his local college, and after that, it was a long journey to becoming a medical doctor. Dr. Balbino attended the University of Illinois School of Medicine in ‘07 and spent one impactful summer at UC San Francisco Department of Geriatrics doing qualitative research on Alzheimer’s care at a local affiliated nursing home in the area. He subsequently attended Duke University for family medicine residency, then went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for geriatrics.

Dr. Balbino was first introduced to the world of functional medicine by his wife, who upon experiencing a wide variety of syndromes that were puzzling to the greater medical community, educated herself on functional medicine and its approach to nutrition, hormones, and digestive health. Dr. Balbino began reading more and more of the materials she was consuming and came across concepts that he never learned in medical school. He was able to open his eyes to a new perspective within medicine, and a new way to help his patients. This development continued in the past few years as Dr. Balbino was introduced to Dr. Shirley Hartman, who had years of experience in holistic medicine. They shared discussions and reading materials, and Dr. Balbino was thus introduced to the world of Lyme disease. Dr. Balbino has committed to a lifetime of learning and service to his community. He is humbled by the unique opportunity to pour himself into partnering with his fellow neighbors and integrating every tool God has given him to end suffering and facilitate a healthier aging experience for those who have battled premature disease.
